Growing Pains and Gracie Games

Grace has discovered the joys of pulling things out of boxes. Things like toys, clothing from her bins, tissues, diaper wipes...the usual for an almost 2 year-old.

Yesterday, I came home to a very chatty child "taking a nap." Her daddy decided it was time for her to lay down, walked into her room and thundered, "GRACE CONSTANCE!" Her entire room was littered (to her decorated) with diaper wipes. They were on her bed, under her bed, in the covers, on the floor, in her closet...and in her mouth.

Mommy decided to take over to let daddy's blood pressure cool a bit. And Grace finally lay down for a nap.

Fast-forward to the evening. Daddy is down sick and Grace has decided yet again that she does not need a nap. I have been into the room three times to put her back to bed. The fourth time, there is a strange clean odor wafting under the door and  along with it a strange premonition into my brain. "Diaper wipes!"

Earlier that evening, Grace and I had gone to the store and picked up more diaper wipes...and now, less than 4 hours later...they are again all over the room.

This time it is Mommy's turn to say, "GRACE CONSTANCE!" We had a "come to Jesus moment" in which it was decided by Mommy that this was UNACCEPTABLE behavior, NOT to be repeated and IT WAS TIME to go to BED!

Grace then went to sleep.
